Using propane is an excellent way to cut down on your transportation costs. Propane prices per litre are lower than gasoline and diesel, the time and money spent on engine maintenance is less than that of gasoline and diesel-fuelled vehicles, and the distance travelled before having to refuel the vehicle is longer than any other alternative fuel. Also, in some jurisdictions in Canada there are rebates or incentives offered to use propane as a vehicle fuel. Canada has an abundant supply (11 billion litres in 2006)1 and exports the majority of its propane (66%1), so the prices are less likely to be as volatile as gasoline or diesel. And with existing infrastructure – there are over 2,000 propane refuelling stations across Canada - making the switch to propane is easy!
